COUNTY REPRESENTATIVES

The Club wishes Daire Cregg a speedy recovery from the injury he sustained during the Roscommon Under 17 Championship match against Galway. Daire, along with his brother Oisin and cousin Cathal Feely contributed handsomely to the Rossies great win over the Tribesmen. All in the Club look forward to seeing Daire back to his great form in the near future.

Sinead Glennon, member of the Senior Ladies team, was on the panel for the Roscommon Ladies Connacht Intermediate Championship game versus Leitrim. The ladies won the game well and secured their place in the Final.

Aisling Feely and Isabelle King represented Boye on the Roscommon U16 Girls A1 Connacht Final versus Leitrim on Sunday in Ballyhaunis. Both girls have been strong forces for both the underage and Senior Ladies Club. Roscommon beat Leitrim by 2.27 to 3.07 with Isabelle at full back and Aisling at full forward, congratulations to the girls.

Update 13th May

The Cooney Motors sponsored Junior team took on St Faithleachs second team on Saturday evening last in the Abbey Park. Boyle with a weakened panel compared to previous outings worked hard through out the game against a yonger pacier Faithleachs team. Boyle went in at half time down by 5 which could have been a lot worse thanks to a great goal line save from Declan McGovern. Faithleachs got out of the blocked quicker in the second half and rattled the net shortly after the throw in. Boyle battled hard in the second half and bought the score difference back to 4 at one stage but eventually ran out second best on the scoreline of Boyle 0.09 st Faithleachs 1.11. Boyle team; D. McGovern, C Horan, C Boylan, A Sharkey, T Regan, R Hannon, C Beirne, C Flannagan, S Tonry, B Kerins, S Kane, M Tormey, L Casey, C Goldrick, S Spellman with K Morris, P Lavin and S Mullen.

The Moylurg Inn sponsored Senior Ladies had a great win over Castlerea this weekend which allowed them to take home the Division 3 League Shield.

Boyle quickly took advantage with a collection of attacks but after a string of missed opportunities they led marginally at the break. Half-time Score: Boyle - 3.05 to Castlerea - 2.03.

They took control in the second half after a tense few moments in which they only lead by 2points, and they continued to add to their lead as fresh legs entered the game. After a break for an injured player to be assessed the heads were switched on once again and some quick scores sealed the game for Boyle. Final Score: Boyle - 7.09 to Castlerea - 4.07.

The Club wishes Megan Kelly of the opposition the very best for a quick recovery.

Starting (13 per side): R. Duffy, S. Keirns, S. Wynne, M. Brogan, S. Keenehan (C), A. Mullins, I. King, R. Cox, G. Flanagan, S. Meehan (1.02), D. McLoughlin, S. Glennon (4.02) & K. Harrington (1.03 - 1f).

The Lannon Motors boys U16 team clinched the Division 1 shield in fine style in Orchard Park Elphin last Wednesday  evening. Boyle 2:11 Kilmore/st Ronans/ Shannon Geals 2.03. Here two teams had meet previous in the league in what was a tight contest which ended a 7 point a piece draw. From the off on Wednesday in looked like it wouldn't be a re occurance of the same low score line. Both teams rattled the net in the first half in a very open free flowing game. In the second half Boyle seemed to have more in the tank and were able to keep the oppositions key players quite for most periods of the half. In what was a great evenings football the u 16s won what we hope is not their only piece of silverware of the year. Congratulations to team and management.
