Update 26th October

The Club Lotto jackpot will be at the record figure of €10,000 for this Saturday night’s draw which will be held in Kate Lavins. We encourage all to purchase a lotto envelope at any of the outlets at which they are available in Boyle, or from any Club officer. The winner would be in for a very pleasant Halloween surprise! The last draw was held in Patrick’s Well and the €20 winners were; Niamh and Shane Caslin, Joe O’Donnell, Paddy and Monica Daly, Patrick McEneney, Jimmy Flaherty and Michael Tormey. The house prize was won by Michael King. Team E will be in charge of the draw for this historic occasion.

It was a special weekend as our Cooney Motors/ Cooney’s Centra Juniors won the Division 5 County League title with a one point victory over Kilglass Gaels in Kilglass on Saturday evening. Congratulations to the entire panel for their efforts and commitment throughout the season and also to the management team of Aidan Lavin, David O’Connor and Bernie Shannon.

The National Automation Limited U21s will commence their championship campaign this coming weekend with a visit to Woodmount to play Padraig Pearses.

The U14s were in Garda Cup against Shannon Gaels/Kilmore on Bank Holiday Monday.

The “Get Active Today” project has had three very successful weeks to date with keep fit sessions, walks and pilates. This programme of activities will continue with the special event of this week being a talk on mental wellbeing in the Clubroom on Thursday at 8pm. The Club will still accept new participants for a proportionately reduced fee of €40.

Our U8s and U10s had a very enjoyable trip to Dublin on Saturday where they were hosted by Clontarf GAA Club against whom they played challenge games. Thanks to the Clontarf Club for their hospitality. They then went on to Croke Park for a memorable tour of the stadium. Thanks to the adults who accompanied the boys on the trip and to Damien Regan who drove them on the impressive Club Rossie bus.

Congratulations to club player Roch Hanmore and to club stalwart and referee Henry Clifford and their respective fiancés on their recent engagements.

The Club extends its sympathy to the Simon family on the death of Lily Simon, Ardagh.
