It was a great weekend for our McGovern Directional Drilling Seniors who had a wonderful win over Clan na Gael in the final group game of the Hodson Bay Hotel Group Senior Championship in Enfield on Saturday evening last. This victory means that Boyle has qualified for the County Senior Quarter Final in which they will play St. Faithleachs on Sunday week. It furthermore means that Boyle will remain in Section A of the Senior Championship for another year.

In the meantime the Seniors are scheduled to play Western Gaels in the final round of the Division 1 League (O’Rourke Cup) this weekend. Details will be provided when available.

The National Automation Limited Minors suffered a one-point loss to Michael Glaveys in the Division 3 Championship on Monday last in Ballinlough. They got back to winning ways on Thursday evening last when they had a convincing win over Western Gaels. They will host St Ronans in their next championship outing on this Thursday at 7.30pm in the Abbey Park.

The U14s will travel to Pairc an Phiarsaigh on Thursday to play Padraig Pearses at 7pm in the Division 1 Championship.

The U12 Division 5 team had an exciting win (after extra time) over Roscommon Gaels in the Abbey Park on Sunday. This victory qualifies them for the final of the Summer League competition.

The U12 Division 1 team will play their Summer League Final against Clan na Gael on Saturday next at 12 noon. Please come along and show your support to these promising young boys.

Well done to the U-8 team who travelled to Centre of Excellence, Ballyhauis on Saturday last to take part in a blitz.

The Club was proud to have been chosen as the location for the Wheelchair Hurling Interprovincial competition. Boyle Sports Complex was the perfect venue and it proved to be a most exciting and inspiring event. Thanks especially to Barry Lowe, who is Roscommon’s representative on the Connacht GAA Games for All Committee for bringing the event to Boyle. Thanks are extended to all Club members and others who helped with the staging of the event.

Those who wish to empty out their wardrobes at the end of summer are reminded that the Club is holding another Cash for Clobber collection. Old clothes, footwear, mobile phones etc are most welcome. Please contact any Club officer to arrange for delivery of bags of material to the Clubroom.

The Club extends its sympathy to County Underage Committee Chairperson Frank Egan, Knockroe, on the death of his mother Mrs. Dolly Egan, Castleplunket. Sympathy is also extended to the Butler family, Boyle on the passing of Padraig Butler, Carrick Road and Curlew View, Boyle.
