Update May 28th

There was no winner of this week's club lotto jackpot of €4,800. €20 winners were Gus Gannon, Mary Doherty, Dan Kennedy. Next week's draw will take Place in An Craoibhín. The numbers drawn were 16,21,22,30.

Abbey Park hosted a fine encounter between Mayo and Roscommon Masters which ended in a draw at 1.11 to 14. Congratulations to our own Stephen Tonry who put in a fine performance at midfield.

The Cooney Motor sponsored Junior team travelled to Tarmonbarry Friday evening for a league game. Boyle were missing many of their starting players but nevertheless saw a panel of 20 lads. Boyle played against a strong breeze in the first half which saw them go in at the break 8 points to 6 down. The second half saw a much more spirited performance which saw Boyle run out comfortable winners at 10 to 2.20. There was a battle for top scorer on the day with David “The Finisher” Kelly taking the prize with 1.6, closely followed by Colin Goldrick with 7 points and Seamus Kane with 6. Marc O Connor, Conboy and Halligan scored the remainder of the points with James Boulger scoring a top corner goal. Well done to team and management. Boyles team; M Birmingham, B Furery, C Beirne, C Horan, S Battles, R Finneran, J Regan, J Suffen, T Halligan, J Boulger, C Goldrick, L Conboy, M O Connor, S Kane, D Kelly.

It was great to see the return of Jim Suffen back to the Boyle colour as opposed to his camouflage colours and to see Michael Birmingham between the posts. The team next face Padraig Pearses away and Friday evening at 8pm in a Championship match, your support as always is much supported.

U16 James Lannon Motors Boyle 4-11 Clann na nGeal 5-05 .
Boyle were under pressure following an early Clann goal and had to work hard to keep pace with a strong Clann team. Boyle registered some well worked scores to get back on terms and went in at half time on a score line of 4-02 to 2-03 in Clanns favour. Boyle came out a fired up team in the 2nd half and reeled off 1-03 to take a 1 point lead , they pushed on to lead by 5 points with some great defending and well worked scores. Clann got a penalty in the last few minutes to bring it back to 2 but Boyle won the kick out and scored the final point of the game . Great contest and huge congratulations to the lads all round.
