Senior Football: In a classic game of two halves, the McGovern Directional senior team eeked out a three point win over St Brigids in the senior league on Friday evening in Kiltoom. Trailing by eight points at the interval, the team showed great heart, team spirit and resilience in the second half. As the light faded over Lough Ree some inspired substitutions, a brave penalty save and fine scores highlighted the team’s strength of character, despite having had no competitive football for six weeks. Well done lads
