Update 12th November

There was no winner of this week's Club lotto jackpot of €7,200. The numbers drawn were 2, 10, 12, & 27. €20 winners were Deirdre Purcell, john McPherson and Bernard Battles. Next week's draw will take place in Patrick's Well.

A very successful careers information night was held in The Clubrooms on Friday night. The idea to arrange such an event was part of Coaching Officer Stephen Bohan's plan for 2018. To bring the plan to fruition, Stephen set up a committee which included Odran Feely, Aine Gannon, Siobhan Gallagher, Kathleen Hanmore and Gerry Kielty

On Friday night an attentive audience of young players, male and female and parents from within the Club and from neighbouring clubs listened to presentations from twelve people who are pursuing careers in a wide variety of areas. The audience was given an honest and comprehensive account of what it takes to pursue different career paths, the different routes one can take to achieve career goals and an overview of the challenges and opportunities that each career can bring
Club Chairperson. Kathleen Hanmore opened proceedings by welcoming everyone to the event and explained the thinking behind the evening. Siobhan  Gallagher was MC on the night and introduced all of the speakers , giving a brief outline of their career path
Many thanks to the twelve presenters on the evening, Oisin Regan, Phase 4 Apprentice, Aaron O'Connor,Secondary School Teacher, Blaithin Dodd, Primary School Teacher, Karl Kennedy, Accounting and Finance, Robbie Molloy IT, Aoife O'Connor Pharmacist,  Michael Mc Gonigle, Teagasc Advisory, Ailbhe Hanmore Solicitor, Ben Mcloughlin, Electrician, Marc O'Connor  Physiotheraphist, Niamh Sheerin Nurse and Rory O'Connor, member of An Garda Siochana. The Careers Committee is indebted to these young people who prepared so well for the event and gave their time very willingly
A huge thanks also to the club members and friends who helped with logistics, parking and catering on the night. Great credit goes to Stephen Bohan for ensuring the success of the event and to the Committee for their work on the project
