Update 8th June

Condolences

Boyle GAA would like to extend deepest condolences to the Mullaney family on the sad passing of Declan. Declan played underage for Boyle GAA and will be sadly missed. We are particularly thinking of his parents Tom and Joey, his sister Sarah and his extended family and friends at this sad time. Funeral details are below. Gone too soon, may he rest in peace!

Declan's Funeral Mass will take place in St Joseph's Church, Boyle, Tuesday the 9th of June, at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Assylynn, Cemetery, Boyle. Due to the current restrictions and adhering to the government guidelines for Covid-19, the Mass will be limited to family members only. If you wish, to you can watch the funeral Mass live from the Webcam in Church (go to www.boyleparish.ie). We also suggest using the online condolence link at www.rip.ie.  The Mullaney family very much appreciate your support at this time. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to Mayo Roscommon Hospice, care of Higgins and Sons Funeral Directors, Boyle and Ballinameen.

Boyle GAA Covid 1900km Challenge – Final Update

Congratulations to everyone who took part in our challenge. Together, we ran/walked a total of 5,822.79 km. Most importantly, we managed to raise a huge €5,204.00 for the Brothers of Charity. A sincere thank you to everyone who donated to this worthy cause. A special thank you also to Jackie Valentine who calculated the mileage daily throughout the month. At the start of the month, we set an initial target of raising €750 and walking/running 1,900 kms. We underestimated the generosity and dedication which exist in our great community.

Safe Return for Gaelic Games

The GAA, An Cumann CamogaĆochta and the LGFA published a plan on the 5th June for a safe return to Gaelic games for the three organisations. For now, the pitch is still closed, but people can use the walkway around the pitch from 8th June in groups of no more than 4 people as per the guidelines. Boyle GAA will be adhering to these guidelines as well as HSE guidelines, and we will be keeping our members up to date as things progress, having regard to player and volunteer health as a priority. It is a positive development and it is good to see some light at the end of the tunnel!

Remember - we're here to help!
