Update 27th July

Our U14 Division 1 team was well beaten in the Championship by Clan na Gael in Johnstown on Thursday last. The Division 4 team is scheduled to play St Brigids in the Championship in the Abbey Park on this Thursday at 7.30pm.

The James Lannon Motors U16s were due to play Kilglass/ St Barrys in the Division 4 Championship in Tarmonbarry on Monday evening.

The National Automation Limited Minors had a fine win over Roscommon Gaels in the Division 2 Championship in the Abbey Park on Wednesday evening last.

The McGovern Directional Drilling Seniors had another good O’Rourke Cup win on Wednesday evening last when they beat Strokestown in Strokestown. They will play Elphin in their penultimate game in this competition, in the Abbey Park on Saturday evening next 1st August at 7.30pm.

The coaching presentation was well attended, with over 15 attending. Thank you to all coaches who attended. A goal keeping presentation will be held in the next few weeks, more details to follow.

Best wishes are extended to the Roscommon U16 Girls and especially the Boyle players Sinead Glennon, Aine Mullins, Roisin Wynne,  Ruth Cox and Sinead Keenehan (management team), who will play Waterford in the All Ireland Final in Nenagh on Wednesday evening at 7pm


Ladies:  The Green Street Veterinary sponsored ladies were defeated by Shannon Gaels on Saturday last.

Update 20th July

The following were €20 winners at the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in Daly’s;- Martin Henry, Mary and Liam Clifford, Loyola Kelly, John McGuinn, Kay Mullaney and Micheál O Reilly. The house prize was won by Daniel Quinn. The jackpot wasn’t won and it will be worth €9,300 for next Saturday night’s draw which will be held in the Moylurg Inn with Team C in charge.
It is a busy time on the playing fields at all age levels.

The U12 Division 4 team played out a well earned draw with Roscommon Gaels in Lisnamult on Friday evening last in the Summer Football League. The U12 Division 1 team will travel to Kiltoom on this Tuesday evening to take on St Brigids in the Summer League ay 7.30pm.

The U14 Division 1 team lost to a much stronger Strokestown in the Championship in the Abbey Park on Thursday last. Their next outing is a trip to Johnstown on this Thursday evening to play Clan na Gael at 7.30pm. The U14 Division 4 team is scheduled to play St Croans, also on Thursday evening at 7.30pm in Enfield.

The James Lannon Motors U16s had a good Division 4 Championship win over Clan na Gael in monsoon like conditions in the Abbey Park on Saturday.

The Cooney Motors/Cooney’s Centra Juniors suffered a disappointing defeat to Kilmore in the Junior B Championship in Kilmore on Friday evening.

The McGovern Directional Drilling Seniors had a great win over St Brigids in the O’Rourke Cup in Kiltoom on Wednesday last. They will travel to Strokestown to take on the local team in the next round of this competition at 8pm on the Wednesday evening.

All Team Managers are reminded that the main playing pitch in the Abbey Park will remain closed to training until further notice to enable it to recover from recent adverse weather and recent heavy usage, and to ensure that the surface is suitable for the many games that are scheduled for the coming weeks.

The Club extends it sympathy to the Keenan families ,Ballinameen and Boyle and the Hatter family, Boyle on recent bereavements.


Ladies Club; Well done to Roscommon U16 lades who defeated Cavan in the All Ireland Semi Final.  All Ireland final on 29th July, venue tbc.  Boyle host Elphin in the Sean Daly Memorial  Cup on Tuesday at 7.30. Green Street Veterinary sponsored ladies play Shannon Gaels on Saturday at 6pm in Croghan, Round 3 in Intermediate Championship

Update 13th July

The McGovern Directional Drilling sponsored Senior team travel to Kiltoom to face St. Brigid's in the Division 1 league Wednesday at 8pm.

The Cooney Motor's/ Cooney Centra sponsored Junior team were due to play Fuerty in the Junior B championship last week but was postponed due to a hurling fixture involving Fuerty. They are scheduled to play Kilmore away in the Junior B championship next Friday, please check fixtures for confirmation.

The U-14 Division 1 boys team went down to a stronger St. Dominic's in the league on Thursday last in the Abbey Park, their next outing is against Strokestown this Thursday at 7:30pm in the Abbey Park.

The U-12 boys Division 4 had a great win over Michael Glaveys in the league Sunday morning. The U-12 Division 1 team are to play Roscommon Gaels in the league this Friday at 7:30pm away.
The club wishes to thank all club members who helped with the smooth running of the Warrior's Run over the weekend.

The deadline to apply for Dermot Earley Youth Leadership Initiative 2015 is July 19th, open to individuals male and female aged 15-18 years old. The programme is run by the GAA, Foroige and NUI Galway and it aims to give young people the skills and confidence needed to be leaders in their communities and full details can be viewed at http://goo.gl/dtF32j

Roscommon Ladies U-16 All Ireland Semi Final v Cavan on Wednesday July 15th at 7pm in Ballinamore.Best wishes to Boyle players Sinead Glennon, Aine Mullins, Roisin Wynne, Ruth Cox and Sinead Keeneghan (management team).

Boyle will host Western Gaels in the Sean Daly Memorial Cup on Tuesday at 7:30pm. Hard luck to the Green Street Veterinary sponsored Intermediate Ladies who narrowly lost out to Kilglass on Saturday evening.

Update 6th July

The following were €20 winners at the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in Creighton's Bar on Saturday night last;- Padraig Langan, Eamon Perry, William and Martina Beirne, Kevin Breheny, Eileen Regan and Emma McMorrow. The house prize was won by Bridget Healy. The jackpot wasn’t won and it will be at €9,200 for next Saturday night’s draw which will be held in Daly’s. Team B will be in charge.

The U12 Division 4 team drew with Shannon Gaels in the Div 4 League on Friday last in the Abbey Park. The U12 Div 1 team will play Roscommon Gaels in the Div 1 League on Friday next at 7.30pm  in Lisnamult.

The U14 Div 4 team lost to Roscommon Gaels in the Championship. The U14 Div 1 team lost narrowly to Oran in the Championship on Thursday last. They will play St Dominics in the next round of the Div 1 Championship on Thursday at 7pm in the Abbey Park.

Please  note that the Club Rossie draw is scheduled for this coming weekend and those who wish to support Roscommon GAA are urged to purchase tickets for very substantial prizes within the next few days.

Well done to Enda and Donie and the Roscommon Seniors on the Championship win over Cavan on Saturday. Looking forward to a favourable draw in the next round of the Qualifiers.

Ladies; Congratulations to Roscommon Ladies U16 Connacht B Champions, especially Boyle players Sinead Glennon, Aine Mullins, Roisin Wynne, Ruth Cox and Sinead Keeneghan (management team).  Roisin Wynne was player of the game. The U15 Sean Daly Memorial Cup competition starts Tuesday 7th July.  Thanks to Elphin, Kilmore, St Michaels and Western Gaels for taking part. Boyle will play away to St Michaels on Tuesday at 7.30 in the first round of the  competition.  The Intermediate Ladies were defeated by Western Gaels in their Championship game on Saturday evening
