Update 29th February

Congratulations to the National Automation Minors on their first win of the league, over Oran on Sunday evening last.

The Cooney Motors/Centra Juniors commence their league with a trip to play Oran on Sunday March 6th, 11am.

The James Lannon Tyre Centre U-16's are out in round 2 of the Division 3 league against St. Aidan's in Ballyforan, Saturday 5th March, 4pm.

Tickets are currently on sale for the Club’s  fundraiser--the draw for a most attractive 5 day return trip for two to New York for the Roscommon v New York Connacht Senior Football Championship. Other prizes in the draw include a 32” Nordmende Television (sponsored by Joe Simon-Home Garden and Build), a Samsung Galaxy Tab(sponsored by Trojan IT),and a Weekend Getaway Break (sponsored by Kelly’s Super Valu). Tickets are available from all committee members.

The following were €20 winners in the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in An Craoibhin;- Patsy Downes and Henri Clifford. The house prize was won by Sharon Beirne. The jackpot wasn’t won and it will be at a new record of €11,000 for next Saturday night’s draw which will be held in Clarke's Bar. Team E will be in charge. Those wishing to have an opportunity to be in with a chance of winning this massive jackpot may choose their lucky numbers in most of the business premises in Boyle.

Update 22nd February

The McGovern Directional Drilling Seniors suffered a defeat to Kilmore in the O'Rourke Cup Senior Football League over the weekend. There will be a break for the team for a few weeks as Roscommon are back in action from this weekend.

The National Automation Minors went down to a stronger Castlerea, St. Kevin's in the Division Three League on Saturday last. Panel: R. Kearney, C. O'Donoghue, M. Grigitas, D. Battles, K. Morris, M. Kenedy, L. Casey, C. McKeon, J. Tighe, L. Garvin, A. O'Connor, E. O'Driscoll, R, Flanagan, B. Regan, O. Regan, C. Derry and S. Mullins. The next round of their league is against Oran this Saturday 27th at 4pm, in Boyle.

Féile na nGael is a Club festival for Hurling, Football, Camogie and Handball at Under 14 level, involving teams from across the Association. The Féile na nGael National tournaments will be held in Kerry/Cork/Limerick on the weekend of 24th – 26th June 2016.
Féile provides an opportunity for:
Under 14 players to participate in an annual Festival of Hurling/Camogie, Handball and Gaelic Football/Ladies Gaelic football
Clubs to experience playing against teams from other Counties/Provinces
Clubs to foster links with other Clubs in other Counties/Provinces
Counties to celebrate Gaelic games by acting as hosts
A core aim of Féile tournaments is to promote a philosophy whereby every player has the opportunity to participate and play in their respective Féile tournament at a level commensurate to their age, skills and strengths.

Ladies Football: Registration for U-8's to Minor, Thursday 25th in the Clubrooms from 7pm to 8:30pm.

Féile na nGael 2016

The Club will launch Boyle Féile na nGael  2016 in the Clubrooms  tonight, Monday, Feb 22nd at 7pm. All are welcome to attend. The club is asking the whole community to get behind the team as it is the first time Boyle have qualified to represent Roscommon. The team will be participating in the boy's football competition. Light refreshments served. 

Féile na nGael is a Club festival for Hurling, Football, Camogie and Handball at Under 14 level, involving teams from across the Association. The Féile na nGael National tournaments will be held in Kerry/Cork/Limerick on the weekend of 24th – 26th June 2016.

Féile provides an opportunity for:

Update 15th February

Our McGovern Directional Drilling seniors had a great start to their O’Rourke Cup (Division 1 League) campaign with a nail biting one point win over Padraig Pearses on Sunday in Woodmount. It was great to see Cian Beirne back in action. Thanks to Barry Lowe who organised catering for the panel. They will be in O’Rourke Cup action again on Sunday next when they travel to Kilmore to play the home side at 2pm.  

The National Automation Limited minors are scheduled to play Castlerea St Kevins in the Division 3 League in O’Rourke Park on Saturday at 4pm. 

The following were €20 winners in the most recent Club Lotto draw which was held in Brunos;- Stephen Langan and Alan Flynn. The house prize was won by Frances Grady. The jackpot wasn’t won and it will be at a new record of €10,900 for next Saturday night’s draw which will be held in An Craoibhin. Team D will be in charge. Those wishing to have an opportunity to be in with a chance of winning this massive jackpot may choose their lucky numbers in most of the business premises in Boyle.

Update 8th February

James Lannon Motors U16s League game with Éire Óg was postponed because of adverse weather conditions.

The National Automation Minors will commence their league this weekend. Check Fixtures section in the Roscommon Herald for details.

Thanks to all male players of all age groups who registered with the Club at Registration Night on Thursday last. We appeal to those who have not yet registered to do so immediately by contacting Mary Clifford (all underage players) and Roch Hanmore for all adult players. Thanks to Mary Clifford and all who assisted with the smooth running of registration on Thursday night.

Preparations are under way for the upcoming National Féile football festival which will be held in Kerry, where Boyle’s U14s will proudly represent Co. Roscommon. Further details will be provided in the coming weeks.

Team C will be in charge. Thanks to Jan Flanagan for co-ordinating the very successful defibrillator training programme which was held in the Clubroom on Saturday and attended by many Club officials and coaches.

The Club Registration Evening for all players (boys only) at U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 will be held in the Clubroom on this Thursday evening from 7pm to 9.30pm. It is essential that all who are in those age groups and who wish to play Gaelic football in Boyle, is registered. We especially welcome now players. Those who are registering for the first time must provide the long version of their birth certificate. Registration costs €40 for U8s and U10s and €50 for the other age categories.


The Clubs (Male Club and Ladies Club) extends its sympathy to the Brennan, Lannon and Scally families, Cashel, Boyle on the death of Jim Brennan, Cashel, and to Mrs Carmel Keenan and family, Carrickmore, Boyle on the passing of her sister Mrs Kitty Maloney.
