Update 25th July

Boyle GAA Club will hold a Monster Auction on August 13th in the Sports Complex, Boyle starting at 1pm. Some of the items to be auctioned include: 2 All-Ireland Football Final Tickets, furniture (3-piece suite, coffee tables, table and chairs), vouchers for Beauticians, Barbers, Hairdressers, Mens clothing, Hotel break, Car servicing, English higher level leaving cert grinds, signed Joe Canning Hurley, signed Roscommon Jersey, bags of turf, timber, pass for the races, bottles of spirits, 20 pints of beer, pass for Zip-it, yearly passes to Lough Key, Jewellery and voucher for Vets practice and a completed Will by Solicitor. If any business or individual would like to donate new/nearly new furniture, services or any item we could auction please contact Shane 086 880 3626 or Mary 086 821 1683. 

The Cooney Motors/Centra sponsored Juniors play Clan na nGael in the Division 4 league on Friday in Johnstown at 8pm

The Cooney Motors/Centra sponsored U-14's drew with Clan na nGael last week in the Division 1 championship. They are scheduled to play St. Ciaran's on Thursday in Fuerty at 7:30pm

The National Automation sponsored Minors defeated Castlerea, St. Kevin's in the Division 3 championship last week. 

Ladies Football


Well done to the U-8's and U-10's girls who started their leagues last week. The U-15 girls were defeated in the Daly Cup by Kilmore/Shannon Gaels.

Update 18th July

Padraig Sweeney from Drumshanbo was the lucky winner of our Club Lotto jackpot of €11,900 at the most recent draw which took place in Clarke’s Bar. Padraig purchased his lotto envelope in Better Buys, The Crescent, Boyle. We congratulate Padraig and his wife Joan on their good fortune. The €20 winners on the night were Catherine and Andrew Carr and Emma Callaghan, while the house prize was won by Phonsie O’Connor. Next Saturday night’s draw will be held in Patrick’s Well and Team E will be in charge. The jackpot will be €1,000.

Commiserations to the Roscommon senior team who were defeated in the Connacht final by a stronger Galway team on the day. Well done to Donie, Enda, Sean and all the Boyle representatives. 

LADIES FOOTBALL

Well done to the Intermediate ladies who defeated Oran in the championship Sunday morning in the Abbey Park.

Elphin/Kilmore play Boyle on this Wednesday 20th July U/15 Daly Cup in the Abbey Park at 7.30pm. St. Croans play Boyle on this Thursday 21st July Minor Championship in Enfield at 7.30pm

Update 11th July

The Club extends its heartiest congratulations of Padraig Sweeney, Drumshanbo who was the lucky winner of our Club Lotto jackpot of €11,900. The draw took place in Clarke’s Bar on Saturday night.

The Cooney Motors/Cooney’s Centra Juniors were defeated by St. Dominic's in the Division 4 league last week. They are scheduled to play Kilbride in the next round of the Junior B Championship on Friday evening next 15th July in Kilbride at 8pm.

The National Automation sponsored Minors were defeated by Kilmore/Shannon Gaels in the championship on Saturday last.

The James Lannon Tyre Centre sponsored U-16's play Michael Glaveys in the Division 4 championship on Thursday in the Abbey Park at 7:30pm.

The Cooney Motor's/Centra sponsored U-14's were defeated by St. Brigid's in the Division 1 championship last week in Kiltoom. Their next outing is on Thursday when they play Kilmore/Shannon Gaels in the championship in Kilmore at 7:30pm.

The U-12's play Clann na nGael in the Summer league on Saturday in Johnstown at 12noon.
The Club’s Monster Auction has been rescheduled for Saturday 13th August. There will be further details in the coming weeks.

Well done to Seán Purcell and Enda and Donie Smith on their excellent contributions to Roscommon’s draw with Galway in the Connacht Senior Football Final on Sunday. Here’s hoping that they will go one step further and complete the task of claiming the Connacht Title on Saturday next in Castlebar.

LADIES FOOTBALL

The Intermediate Ladies play Oran in the championship on Sunday in the Abbey Park at 5pm.

Update 4th July


The most recent Club Lotto draw was held on Saturday night last. The €20 winners were Gerry and Phil Emmett and James Hannon. The house prize was won by Karen Duignan-Dwyer. The jackpot wasn't won and it will be a new record of €11,900 for next Saturday night's draw which will be held in Clarkes and with Mary Clifford's  team in charge. Don't forget that lotto may be purchased in most business  outlets around the town.

A depleted McGovern Directional Drilling senior team went down to Roscommon Gaels in the O'Rourke Cup in Abbey Park on Sunday.

The Cooney Motors Cooney's Centra juniors lost to Tulsk in the Junior B Championship in Tulsk on Friday evening last. Their next championship action will be against Kilbride on 15th July. They host Strokestown in the Division 4 league this Saturday at 8pm in the Abbey Park.

The James Lannon Tyre Centre sponsored U-16's were defeated by St. Brigid's in the Division 3 championship.

The Cooney Motors/Centra sponsored U-14's play St. Brigid's in the Division 1 championship in Kiltoom on Thursday at 7:15pm.

The U-12 Division 5 team play St. Brigid's in the summer league on Friday in the Abbey Park at 7:30pm. The Division 1 team play St. Brigid's in the Abbey Park on Saturday at 12noon.

The Monster Auction which was scheduled for this coming weekend has been postponed until a later date as it coincides with a large volume of Club playing activity. 

Best wishes are extended to the Roscommon Seniors and their management, and especially the Boyle connections, in the Connacht Final on Sunday.

LADIES FOOTBALL:

U12 girls play Eire Og in the Division 1B County Final on Saturday in Kiltoom at 3:30pm. U15 Sean Daly Memorial cup, Boyle V's St. Michael's, Abbey Park, Wed 7.30pm. The club was privileged to host the U16 All Ireland Qualifier and the U14 All Ireland A final last week. Many thanks to all who assisted with the smooth running of these matches & to the Order of Malta for attending on Friday.
