Update 25th January

The McGovern Directional Drilling seniors are in preparation for the upcoming O’Rourke Cup campaign which will commence on Sunday 14th February with an away game against Padraig Pearses.
Patrons are encouraged to contact Club Treasurer James O’Boyle at 086 8526329 to establish direct debits to become members of our Club Lotto for €120 per annum. Now is an opportune time to do so with the jackpot at €10,800.
Those who have yet to return their remittances and counterfoils for the GAA National Draw are asked to do so immediately.
Congratulations to Tadhg Lowe on receiving his Roscommon Herald Player of the Month award at the banquet in Abbey Hotel, Roscommon on Friday night last.
The Club extends its sympathy to Mrs Olivia Kelly and Mrs Pauline Ryan on the death of their brother Monsignor John Hanly.

Update 18th January

The following were winners at Saturday night’s Club Lotto draw which was held in Wynnes--€20 each--Mary Reid (Keash) and Seamus Cooney, and house prize Sean McKeon. The jackpot wasn’t won and it will be at a new record high of €10,700 for this Saturday night’s draw which will be held in Dodds. Team B will be in charge. Those wishing to buy tickets should be on the look out for the new Club Lotto boxes which are now available in most outlets in Boyle. Tickets can be purchased in those outlets and the marked envelope can be placed in the box. Those wishing to become annual subscribers to the Club Lotto may sign up for an annual subscription of €120, or a direct debit for €10 per month can be set up by contacting Club Treasurer at 086 852 6329.

Those who have been issued with tickets for the GAA National Draw are asked to return ticket counterfoils and remittances to the Treasurer immediately.

Thanks to the large numbers who attended the Underage Information Evening on Tuesday last. An enthusiastic and broadly representative Underage Committee to administer football for all age groups from U6 to minor was established. It will be headed up by the following;- Chairperson-Jim McGrath, Vice Chair-Brian Kennedy, Secretary-Maura Casey, Assistant Secretary - Kevin O’Connor, P.R.O - Michelle McGrath, Delegates to County Minor Committee - Jim McGrath and Maura Casey (Alternates-- Eugene Halligan and Kevin O’Connor), Representatives on Club Executive - Jim McGrath, Maura Casey, Kay Baxter and Geoff Henry. The Underage Committee will have the pleasant task of co-ordinating arrangements for the participation of our Club’s U14 footballers in the National Féile Finals in Kerry in May, where they will represent Co. Roscommon.

Defibrillator--basic life support training will be held in the Clubroom on Saturday week 30th January from 10.30am to 2pm. This will be a great opportunity to renew previous AED training or to acquire life saving skills for the first time. We encourage as many as possible to attend. As places are limited, please contact Jan Flanagan at 086 0667163 to confirm booking. 

The Club extends its sympathy to the Dodd and Keenehan families on the passing of Mrs Eileen Dodd, The Crescent, Boyle.

Ladies Football: Ladies AGM will take place in the clubhouse on Sun Jan 24th at 5pm. All players, parents and everyone interested in the development of ladies football in Boyle is invited to attend. We are always actively looking for new people to get involved with the club, both to help with coaching and on the committee to bring new ideas and energy.

Update 11th January

The Club will hold a very important Information Event tomorrow night Tuesday the 12th at 8.30pm in the Clubroom for all parents of boys from age 6 to 18 who are currently playing, or intend to play football with Boyle GAA Club. All parents and anyone else interested in the continuing promotion and development of underage Gaelic Games in Boyle are invited. The meeting will concluded with a cup of tea. An important aspect of this meeting is the preparation for the upcoming participation of our incoming U14s in the Féile National Finals.

All adult players are reminded that memberships should be paid to Roch Hanmore immediately.

The Club Lotto is now at a new record of €10,600 and the next draw will be held on Saturday night next in Dodd’s, with Team A in charge. The following were €20 winners in the last draw which was held in the Moylurg Inn;- Gerry and Phil Emmett and Moira Doyle (Keadue). The house prize was won by Adam Wheeler.. Those who would like to become annual Club Lotto subscribers should contact Club Treasurer James O’Boyle at 086 8526329.

The Club extends its sympathy to the following who suffered bereavements recently;- the family of the late great Roscommon footballer and hurler Gerry O’Malley, the Killilea family, The Plains, the Callaghan family, Maple Drive, the Lavin family, Ballymore, the Quinn family, Boyle, the Downes family, Kiltycreighton, the Lally family, Kilbride, and the relatives of the late Eddie Wynne, Boyle.
