Pitch Supreme

Thanks to our pitch coordinators and groundsmen for having the pitch and grounds in such good condition. Its takin as 'a given' sometimes we have our facilities in such good condition but just like to acknowledge the work that's been done.

 

Defibrillator in Boyle GAA 

Important to post this information again to remind ourselves about the potential lifesavers in the Defib locations. Thanks to all involved in the relocation of our defibrillator to the front wall of the clubhouse.
The continuous support of our loyal weekly lotto members has allowed us to have the funds to buy a special unit for the defibrillator which maintains the temperature and has security features which alarm once the box is opened.
This is another step in ensuring the health and safety of all who come to our grounds and the wider community.

Roscommon U20 All-Ireland Semi Final 

Roscommon Will play Down in the All-Ireland Semi Final this coming weekend in Breffini Park. Throw in time is 7 pm on Saturday evening the 7th of August.

Connacht Minor Championship 

Well done to our Roscommon Minors on defeating Galway in Tuam in the Semi Final on Saturday evening . It was a huge swing of an 11-point deficit to overcome Galway at home to take the spoils!  

They will face Sligo in the Final on Friday, the 6th of August at 7pm in Dr Hyde Park, in what will be a thrilling encounter. We have a solid club representation with 7 from Boyle on the Panel- Daniel Casey, Joseph Coyle, David Flanagan, Eden Kerins, Luke McGrath, Gavin O’Connor, Niall O’Donnell. Good luck men this is Major! 

Congrats to Boyle Celtic 

Congrats to Boyle Celtic on winning the Roscommon District Football League in Lecarrow on Sunday after defeating Ballymoe FC by 1-0. Well done to Gary Goldrick scoring the only goal and James Bolger on getting Man of the Match.  

Good luck to James heading back State Side next week. Both clubs delighted to have you back over the summer months and always welcome back. 

Ladies Football 

What a game! Congratulations to the Boyle Ladies who produced the game of the year on Sunday morning claiming a the Div 2 League against a very good St Brigids side in Abbey Park on a score line of 2.17 - 2.10 .  Clearly a team that is thriving and striving for success and maturing into a fine team in strength and depth. Well done to Vinnie Flanagan and his management team on their guidance and experience. We can’t wait to see what the Championship holds.

 LGFA

Our Intermediate Ladies produced a brilliant performance to defeat Shannon Gaels 4:16 - 1:13 at the Abbey Park over the weekend. Vinny Flanagan's team advance to play St. Brigid's in next Sunday's League Final in Boyle at 11am. The U12 girls had a good win versus Strokestown. Thanks to all the helpers who assisted with the LGFA Intermediate Championship game between Sligo and Longford.

Thanks also to the coaches, officers and coordinators on making things run so smoothly.  

Connacht Final   

Congrats to Daire Cregg, Cathal Feely and Roscommon U20s on Wednesday night in Castlebar who beat Mayo in the Connacht Final. Huge win for our men.

Well done to our Junior team on a fine game on Saturday evening in Kilteevin having 4 points to spare over a strong Josephs Team.  Each team has now been beaten once leaving it an interesting run into the playoffs. 

Boyle LGFA 

From being drenched last week, to being scorched this week, our Intermediate Ladies are well on form, and had another win in their latest Div 2 League fixture versus St Mary’s: 1.17 - 1.05.

Our U16 Girls were defeated by a strong St Brigids in the Div 1 League. Members of the U16 panel, Aimee Roddy and Sophie King played with the Roscommon U16 Girls versus Sligo on Friday evening - well done to you both.

Our U12 Girls team had a great win versus St Faithleach's in the Div 2 League leaving the scoreboard on 12 - 4.

Lastly, a public service announcement - don’t forget to lather on the sun cream and get the water into ye this week folks, enjoy the good spell!

Boyle LGFA 

The Intermediate Ladies have had a great campaign in the Div 2 League this year. This trend continued with a draw versus St Brigids after a very competitive game on Sunday morning, final score: 3.13 - 5.07.


The U16 Girls had a good win over Roscommon Gaels in the Div 1 League, final score 5.03 - 3.06. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to both Caoimhe Cregg & Carrie O’Donnell, hope to see ye back training soon girls!

The U14 Girls were defeated by Clann na nGael in the Div 1 League

Roisin & Saoirse Wynne were part of the Roscommon Ladies team to take on Kildare in the All Ireland Intermediate Championship - good luck to your fellow players and management in the remaining games.

All Ireland Minor Semi-Final 

Hard Luck to Roscommon Minors at the Weekend playing Kerry. We were well represented by Oisin Cregg and Conor McPherson on what was a marathon 2 years in the 1 campaign. 

Boyle Hurling Club 

Well done to u-11 hurlers who played their first game this season against Tremaine. Great performance all. Well Done to the Players and Management on the start of great things to come. 

Boyle GAA Nursery

Last week Monday the 5th of July, we started out Nursery Programme with the most enthusiastic Kids that ever walked on grass! We had 66  Boys and Girls  and over 20 coaches and officers on Monday evening. The Under  4s to Under 6's programme focuses on basic movements and skills with the most important skill to have fun and make friends. Well done to all!

Boyle LGFA 

Boyle LGFA It’s all a go in Boyle LGFC as the League is in full swing at all age groups.  

The U16s took on Clann na Gael in the Division 1 League, winning on a tidy scoreline of 4.15 - 2.04 

U14s were defeated by St Brigid’s in the Division 1 League.  

Meanwhile, the U12s took to the field on Sunday evening, although it was wet and miserable, they made it worthwhile landing a good win against Four Roads in Division 2.  

Our Intermediate Ladies were due to play Padraig Pearses at the weekend, but that game has been postponed until further notice.

Club Championship Draw 

The draw was made on Sunday the 27th of June for the Senior, intermediate and Junior championships. 

The McGovern Directional Drilling Boyle seniors were drawn in Group B with Elphin, Michael Glaveys and Roscommon Gaels. 

For the junior A Championship draw, The Cooney Motors Boyle Juniors will play against St Brigids B, St Ronans and St Michaels in Group A. 

Boyle LGFA 

Boyle LGFA had a week of action with strong performances all around. Our Intermediate Ladies had a great win over Michael Glaveys in the Division 2 League with the final score at 5.16 - 2.08 in our favour.  

The U16s scored 5.05 to St Barry’s 2.18 in the Div 1 League while the U14s drew with St Barry’s in the Div 1 League; and the U12 girls had a strong win over Michael Glaveys in the Div 2 League.  

Boyle is well represented on the U14 North Roscommon Regional Development team and they finished out their program with a challenge game versus West Roscommon region on Saturday, well done to Aoife Ó Dowd, Ailish Casey, Nicole Scally and Áine Donoghue, we hope you enjoyed the experience 

Connacht Championship

Ladies Gaa Club Notes

We had a busy week in Boyle LGFA! Our Int Ladies took on Shannon Gaels in their first match of the Div 2 League and won. Meanwhile, the U14s and U12s were also successful against Roscommon Gaels and Kilbride respectively; and our U16s were marginally defeated by Oran. The Club would also like to acknowledge U14 players Aoife Ó Dowd, Ailish Casey, Nicole Scally and Áine Donoghue who took part in a friendly v Leitrim with the U14 North Roscommon Regional Development squad.

Senior and Junior Club Fixtures 

The Boyle Juniors started their league on Saturday the 12th playing St Ronan’s at home ending in defeat.  Great to have games back and supporters at games again. Best for Boyle were Ben Kerins, David Callaghan, and Seamus Kane. There was a minute’s silence held in respect of the passing our St Ronan’s player Ronan Healy. 

Boyle Seniors will take on St Brigids in Kiltoom this Saturday evening in Kiltoom. Supporters, although restricted numbers have now been allowed to go to matches. 

Defibrillator conversation  

The Denmark v Finland Game televised on RTE at the weekend has reignited the importance of the availability and knowledge on the Defibrillator. Christian Erikson who collapsed on the field of play was quickly revived and brought back from the brink. 

The local Defib Map has been posted for our local area on Social Media and anyone who hasn’t seen it, please ask the question on your nearest one. Boyle GAA have one on the wall of the clubroom. 

Boys Underage

All boys youths teams are ramping up their training as season starts soon. Notably the u17's took to on two local rivals St Michaels and Western Gaels during the course of last week. Two worthy opponents and useful preparation ahead u17 summer campaign. 

Ladies Club 

The club was bustling with activity last week with three teams kicking off their league campaigns - U16 in Div 1, U14 in Div 1 and U12 in Div 2. Wishing all of our players and management the best for the much-anticipated season 

Local Club Fundraiser 

The Local club fundraiser has had a steady start to ticket sales and with numbers of tickets capped at 4000, they are moving. Sales are not only going county-wide but going worldwide as well and support for the Boyle Celtic and Boyle Gaa has been immense.

Senior and Junior Club Fixtures 

The master Fixtures have been released and circulated to the management and players. The league this year is split into 2 groups similar to the intercounty fixtures. 

First Senior League game is on the 19th of June against St Brigids in Kiltoom at 8pm 

For the Juniors, the first round of League starts on the 12th of June in Boyle against St Ronan’s at 7pm.

Senior and Junior Club Fixtures 

The master Fixtures have been released and circulated to the management and players. The league this year is split into 2 groups similar to the intercounty fixtures.
First Senior League game is on the 19th of June against St Brigids in Kiltoom at 8pm
For the Juniors, the first round of League starts for on the 12th of June in Boyle against St Ronan’s at 7pm.

Roscommon GAA 

Our Seniors had a tough league campaign finishing strongly against Kerry but defeated by 6 points. They now face Armagh in the relegation semi-final. Winner takes it all and stays up in Division 1 and the beaten semi-finalists in both games will drop to Division 2 for 2022.
All to play for! Good luck to our men in the primrose and blue!

Boyle Ladies Club 

The Club wishes to remind members that players must be registered before returning to play and it can be completed online using Foireann (www.foireann.ie). There has been great interest in the nursery programme which will start in July and will run for 8 weeks - register now and more information will be issued closer to the start date. The Roscommon Intermediate Ladies Panel had another great win today v Down in the National League - well done to Club Players and sisters, Roisin & Saoirse Wynne.

Roscommon GAA

Hard luck to the Roscommon Senior team who were beaten by Galway on Sunday. Roscommon now face Kerry at home next weekend. Good luck to Cian McKeon, Donie and Enda Smith.  Roscommon will face a relegation playoff against the Division 1 Northside in the coming weeks.

Club Training
All teams are now back training in what was a rewarding milestone in the current climate.

Update 10th May

 Club Adult players return 

We are finally there, for full return to training this week under the current guidelines. We ask all adult players to complete registration before Tuesday.  

We're looking forward to seeing everyone back in Abbey Park this week. 

County League and Championship 2021 

League and Championship fixtures were released this week with League starting in mid-June and Championship in last week of August. O’Rourke Cup is split into 2 groups this year with top 2 teams in each group playing off in Semi Final. There will be no teams relegated. 

Club Championship will have same format as last year. More details to follow.

Abbey Park Host to First Game of 2021 

Boyle hosted a Roscommon challenge game in preparation for the Alliance football league starting next week. The game was held behind closed doors in line with Covid regulations. Special thanks to the Parks Committee and all the volunteers who had the Park in great condition. We look forward to hosting our county team again soon.

Healthy Clubs initiative

The Abbey Park is now promoting a smoke and vape-free area. Signs have been erected and strides have been taken to help people kick the habit while entering the Park.

Underage Return to Play

This week saw the return of all our underage players to the field of play albeit in pods of designated numbers. Thanks to all the coaches and volunteers and covid officers on what was a busy week back ensuring the return to play protocol was being adhered to and safely guided. We have still some outstanding registrations to complete and we ask all parents and guardians to register online with Foireann. 

All underage coaches must be registered. Once coaches are registered, they will be assigned to their team on Foireann. 

All coaches and underage players that have registered so far have been assigned to their team on Foireann (U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17).

First on Field Action of the Year

“I know you will be aware by now of the positive announcement by the Irish Government this evening that non-contact underage training in pods of 15 will be permitted from April 26th and that full contact Inter-County training at adult level can re-commence from Aril 19th. “ 

Club Membership and Return to Play across age groups and Codes 

Thank you to all of you that have registered so far on our new online system www.foireann.ie! Training for underage players is allowable from Monday 26th April and our underage teams will be returning to train within the covid-19 guidelines on a phased basis over the next weeks. The individual coaches will be in contact with you regarding training but first we need to get everyone registered so that we have your details! If you haven't done so yet please register your child asap. 

All underage coaches must be registered. Once coaches are registered, they will be assigned to their team on Foireann.
