Update 11th November

Boyle u 20 got there year of the start against a strong St. Barry’s team on Sunday morning. It was a draw at half time with Boyle playing the better football. However fitness showed really in the 2nd half and proved costly. Jack Moran kicked 3 great scores in the 1st half and Tiernan Henry was kicking well from placed ball. Adam Simon and Adam O Connor were winning the battles with there men and Danny Valentine was excellent in the first half. In the second half boyle only scored twice from play  and 2 frees and really did not create enough chances. Cathal Feely was excellent throughout the whole game and tried really hard. Tomas Regan tried very hard as well and never stopped running. Loius Garvin tried hard throughout as well. Boyle lacked composure in the backs at times that led to 2 of there 3 goals. This team show that they have potential but need to get fit to progress. Final score St Barrys 3-12 Boyle 1 -14.

Else where out U16s faced Kilmore/Shannon Geals for the 4th time this year also on Sunday . Boyle once again playing with just two subs and a number of u 14 players worked hard through out and soaked up a lot of pressure in the opening quarter. Scores were locked at 4 points a piece until David Duggan got on the end of a long ball into the square and scoring the only goal of the match. Boyle worked hard in the second half but found it hard to get into any proper scoring position while the opposition continued to attack. Unfortunately it was not to be as Boyle, while holding on to a one point lead for a long period of time eventually saw Kilmore/ Shannon Geals score a late point for the match to finish all square.

Well done to our u12s who won the div 5 county final this afternoon in a close encounter with St Barrys. Congratulations to all involved!

Our u 13s team had their Feile qualifier game Sunday morning called off as Strokestown conceded.

Reminder to come out and support our juniors again this Friday evening in a replay of the county final in Strokestown.

Update 4th November

Our junior team took to the pitch in Strokestown once again this year to face Furety in the champion final. Boyle playing with the breeze in the first half went three points behind at a stage but went in at the break level at 5 a piece. Boyle once again performed better in the second half and managed to go 3 points to the good themselves at one stage. However some needless mistakes say them leading by just one point going into extra time. After 7 minutes of injury time Furety managed to score a point to bring it level to go to a reply now due to be played Friday week again on Strokestown.
