Minor Club:
Thanks to all who have registered so far for the year ahead. Great to see the interest and enthusiasm from our future stars for playing again this year! If anyone missed registration there is another opportunity on Tuesday 28th January in the clubhouse between 7 & 9pm. Remember that all players need to be registered before they can train or play.

The Minor Cub review took place in the clubhouse on 20th January. Management of our underage teams for the coming year was confirmed as follows: U8 Kevin Mullen; U10 Gerry Sheerin; U12 Gerry Nerney; U14 Ciaran McKeon; U16 Shane Spellman; Minor: Brian Costello. The club are delighted to have 3 new faces coming in at U14, U16 and Minor, and Fergal O' Donnell (Minor Chair) thanked outgoing management teams at these grades for all their effort and hard work in 2019. It was outlined that player numbers are good up until U14 but unfortunately, numbers are declining at U16 and Minor. There was a good attendance at the meeting, but again mostly coaches, so it is hoped for more parent input in our minor club in 2020. U14, U16 and Minor competitions kick off in the second and third week of February. There was a big thank you to all those involved in coaching, administration, pitch coordination, Feile committee, etc. Presentation of U12 and Feile medals will take place in the coming weeks.

Ladies Club:
The LIDL Ladies NFL Division 3 Round 1 game between Roscommon and Sligo took place in the Abbey Park in Boyle on Sunday. There was a strong Boyle contingent involved with this team with Roisin and Saoirse Wynne, Sinead Glennon and Kate Harrington representing Boyle as players, whilst Gary Wynne was a member of the management team. Roscommon won on a scoreline of 3.12 to Sligo 2.08. Well done to all involved and the club are proud of our representatives and were delighted to host the game.

There will be a registration night on Wednesday the 5th of February in the clubhouse from 7-8 pm for ladies teams at all ages.

The numbers drawn in the Lotto draw on Saturday night were 4, 18, 19 and 25. The weekly winners were Vicki Lavin, Chris Ennis and Liz Gannon. Next week's jackpot is €3500 and the draw will be held in Lavins.

Update 13th January

Pride of place this week goes to our U13's who won their Féile Division 2 Final against St Aidans on Sunday in the Abbey Park on a 3-03 to 1-07 scoreline. After a long season for the lads this was their last game and fitting that it was a final and a chance to compete in this year 2020 Féile Na nÓg competition in the summer. Boyle got off to a flyer early in the first half with a goal from Reece Calpin that settled the Boyle nerves. Both teams matched each other for strength and skill in this tight game. Boyle went in at half time leading by a slender one-point margin. Boyle, as they did in the first half, came out of the blocks very early in the second half and registered two quick goals from Shay Noone and Cathal McKeon. St Aidans were determined though, and narrowed the lead. Boyle held out and two late points from Aaron Shannon and Shay Noone, saw them victorious with a 3-03 1-07 winning score line. The boys, coaches and parents now look forward to a brilliant trip to the north during the summer as they take their rightful place in this year’s 2020 Féile Na nÓg which takes places in Donegal, Derry and Tyrone. Well done to players, coaches and parents for all the hard work during the season gone by.

Well done to Enda Smith and Evan McGrath who were involved with the Roscommon senior team in their convincing win over Leitrim in the FBD League on Sunday. Roscommon now face Galway in the FBD Final next weekend.

Congratulations to Cian McKeon who was involved with DCU in their win against Garda College in the first round of the Sigerson Cup on Sunday. DCU now face Queens in the quarter-final next weekend. In the same competition Steve Tonry was part of the management team of IT Sligo who overcame UL in their first-round Sigerson clash. IT Sligo will face Letterkenny IT in the quarter-final next weekend.

The Annual Minor Committee review is scheduled for Monday 20th January at 8.30pm in the clubhouse. All parents and club members interested in the progression of our underage club are invited to attend.

A club registration evening will take place on Thursday 23rd January from 7-9pm in the Abbey Park clubhouse. This is an opportunity for all to renew membership for 2020.

Tickets are currently on sale for the GAA National Club Draw. The 2020 Draw has 20 significant prizes on offer, varying from a Renault Car to All Ireland Final Tickets, a holiday voucher and many more. The purpose of the GAA National Club Draw is to assist clubs in their drive to raise much-needed funds. Please note that the Club retains all of the proceeds from the tickets sold by the Club. The draw takes place on the 12th of March. Furthermore, every ticket purchased before 15th February will also be entered into a special Boyle GAA club draw on February 15th, so each ticket gives you two chances to win. Special Boyle GAA Club Prizes include: (1) Tickets for 2 to a Manchester United Home Game plus accommodation; (2) Crate of 12 Bottles of Wine; (3) Signed Roscommon Jersey; or (4) Buffalo Boy Voucher. Ask a club member or contact us via social media if you would like to purchase a ticket.

The numbers drawn in this week’s Boyle GAA lotto were 6, 14, 23 and 30. There was no jackpot winner. Weekly winners were Gary Wynne, Michael Bourke and Bridie Ennis. Next week’s draw is in The Well with Louise Kennedy's team in charge.
