Update 16th November

Well done to our National Automation Limited U21s who secured a hard earned but deserved victory over St Brigids in the Division 1 Championship Semi Final in wet and windy conditions in the Abbey Park on Sunday. They now await either Clan na Gael or Strokestown who will meet in the other semi final. Thanks to our ground staff who were in action from early Sunday morning to ensure that the pitch was in good condition despite the weather.

The U14s will play Castlerea St Kevins in O’Rourke Park, Castlerea in the Garda Cup semi final at the weekend -details to be agreed . We again ask all supporters, parents and friends to go along and support the boys. The Garda Cup Final is scheduled to be played in the Abbey Park on Saturday 28th November.

Well done to our quiz team of Cillian Doyle, Ronan Flanagan, Daire Cregg and James Bolger who won their Scór na nÓg question time competition in Elphin on Friday evening last. We wish them the best of luck in the County Final which will be held in the Dean Crowe Hall, Athlone on Sunday next.
Best wishes to Enda Smith who will be one of the stand-by players for Ireland in the International Rules game with Australia on Saturday next in Croke Park. We earnesty hope that he will get called into action in the Irish jersey.

The “Get Active Today” campaign is now entering its final week and the finale will be a 10 k walk which will commence at the Clubroom at 10.30am on Sunday. We invite all participants in the campaign to join in for this conclusion to what has been an excellent social and health enhancing programme.

Tickets for the National GAA Draw have been circulated to all club members and players--male and female. Anyone who hasn’t got their book of tickets can get same from the Treasurer. We require each recipient to sell at least one book and to return the money and counterfoils before the end of November. It is essential that this ticket sale process is successful as it’s needed to finance the ongoing running of the clubs.

The AGM of the male club has been fixed for Sunday 6th December in the Clubroom at 5pm. Nomination forms have been issued to Club members, who are asked to return completed nomination forms and to submit motions in relation to the running of the organisation, to the Club Secretary, Mary Clifford by Friday 4th December.
