A proposal that was mooted at the 2016 AGM and warmly embraced by those present saw some forty plus day trippers from Boyle Ballinameen and Ballyfarnon Cootehall enjoy a memorable day out in Dublin. After some light refreshments in the Clubrooms a very enthusiastic group travelled in style on the Club Rossie bus accompanied by Senator Frank Feighan
First stop was the Houses of the Oireachtas where Frank and Deputy Eugene Murphy afforded everyone a warm welcome and a very welcome snack before a comprehensive tour of the Dail and Seanad Chambers led by one of the Dáil ushers .Many thanks to Frank and Eugene for their generous hospitality
Next stop was Croker where everyone enjoyed a superb tour of the Stadium and Museum and some even ventured onto the hallowed turf!......( Some in the crowd felt the offender would get a black but the tour guide settled on a yellow card !!!!)
Overall a great day was had by all ,so much so that ideas for the next trip were being discussed on the return journey.
Many many thanks to Barry Lowe and Martin Dolan for all their hard work in ensuring this initiative got off the ground and organising a very successful day.
