U17 Championship
The Boys U17 teams made two wins out two in this year’s division 1 championship with a very strong performance after the long trip to hosts Padraig Pearses. Boyle registered the first score after a well taken free in the early minutes. Pearses quickly responded with a point to level the game with what might look like a well evenly matched game. Boyle were full of running and drive that put further 3 points on the board to make it 0-4 to 0-1 at the first water break. Boyle continued to keep points ticking over which brought their tally to 8 at break and Pearses trying to keep in touch with a score line of 0-8 to 0-3 to Boyle.
Boyle pushed on in the 2nd half and never took their foot of the gas, a notable passage of play before the 2nd water break was a fine turnover of possession in the middle of the park that put Boyle into a goal scoring position which was calmly put past the Pearses keeper to registered Boyles first goal. This made it at the 2nd water break 1-13 to 0-3. After the water break Pearses started to tire and having a man sent off, Boyle continued to pile on the pressure and the full-time whistle Boyle and notched up a further 5 points and a converted penalty to make it a fine 2-18 to 0-03 win for the lads.

The M Keirns Construction sponsored Intermediate Ladies defeated Eire Og in a great start to their Championship campaign on a score line of 5.08 - 1.11.
The Corrib Oil sponsored U19 Girls have continued their winning run in the League with a brilliant win over Clann na nGael, final score was 2.21 - 2.07. They will meet St Brigids on Thursday, September 2 at 7pm in Abbey Park.
Our U15 Girls made it to the Shield Final in the John West Féile na nÓg but were defeated by St Croans. Well done to all of the girls that participated, they were troopers throughout the day!
Our U14 Girls were defeated by St Michael’s / St Ronan’s in the North Roscommon League, 2.09 - 1.14.
Our U12’s met Northern Harps in Ballinameen to contest the Division 2A Final - the pinnacle of the year for this team who had lost just one of their fourteen games all year, their first of the season, against Northern Harps.
The girls started out well and won a lot of possession from the outset, this was enhanced with tigerish defending and pinpoint kickouts setting up our forwards. Paired with excellent support play, the scores followed, and Boyle led at the break 0.06 - 0.01. Northern Harps returned with all guns firing, their hugely admirable work rate left only the smallest of margins between the teams at the water break 0-6 to 0-5.
A long range score by R. Sheerin put a little more light between the teams. And a pinpoint pass found E. Fitzpatrick on the edge of the square, leaving her one on one against her cousin in goals - the ball quickly rattled into the back of the net. Northern Harps were denied scores by the woodwork & a brilliant save by A. Brogan and epic defending led by R. Casey, G. Moran, G. Sweeney, H. Fitzhenry, L. O Shaughnessy and L. Sheedy. U. Padimanskaite and R. Sheerin each put another score up before a final point from C. Coyle. Leaving the game at 0.11 - 0.05. Cue an ecstatic Boyle and heartbroken Harps.
Thanks to the large, vocal, supportive and appreciative Boyle crowd that made up our cohort on the evening. What an end to the season, huge thanks to the dedicated parents, backroom team and management behind the girls. We’re very proud of this achievement and hope to see them continue to play for many years to come.
