On the pitch;
The Cooney Motors/ Cooney’s Centra sponsored Junior Team defeated St. Joseph’s
in the league on Friday last.
In what was a tough, physical game, the home side pulled away in the final
quarter.
The first half was full of chances for both sides, however, both sides failed
to opportunities presented to them.
Boyle’s scores came from Lochlainn Conboy, David Kelly, Niall O’Donoghue and
Shane Battles to have Steve Tonra’s men four points to the good at the
interval.
After a couple of scores from both sides, it was the visitors who scored the
game’s first goal after forty-five minutes.
However, this spurred on the home side. The impressive Reece Conroy set up his
teammates on a couple of occasions to further the margin.
O’Donoghue and Conboy kept finding their range and substitutes Seamus Kane and
Colin Goldrick both found the back of the net, to put the result beyond
reasonable doubt.
