Update 24th June

The Cooney Motors sponsored Junior team took on St.Domnics on Sunday who were on a run of good form. Unfortunately this was to show in the match as Boyle miss fired up front and conceded 2 goals in quick succession in he other half of the field. Boyle never looked like closing this gap and ran out second best on this occasion. Next up for them is and away game v St Michael's fixed for sat July the 6th at 7 pm.

There was a lot of mileage put up with our underage teams with both cheers and tears in finals.

Firstly the U12 Girls
An incredibly skilful and committed U12 Girls team we’re beaten in the county final on Friday evening by St.Barry's. The teams went in level at the break and when Boyle went one ahead with 10 minutes to go we began to dream that this could be Boyle's day. Alas, it was not to be as following the trading of some scores Barry's hit a purple patch and put three over unanswered. The game finished 12 - 9 but the spirit and resilience of these players marks them out as champions anyhow in the eyes of their large contingent of travelling supporters.

Our U14 Girls shall now be known as county champions after winning the Division 2A League Final on Thursday evening. These girls showed a lot of heart as they battled right until the final whistle in a one point cracker. Final score - Boyle 2:05 to St. Dominic’s 0:10. Congratulations to the girls and their management.

Boyle GAA Club will host a hive of activity this coming Friday as part of the Connacht province hosting the Feile Competition. Our U14 Cooney Motors Limited Boys will play FionnbhrĂș Colmcille at 4.54pm and Western-Gaels at 6.15pm in Group A of Division 4. All in the Club are greatly looking forward to welcoming Gaultier Gaa Club. The lads and their management would also like to thank their sponsors, Cooney Motors Ltd. for all their assistance with their car wash fundraiser help over the weekend. Thanks to all those who supported it.

The Minor Girls kick off their Championship campaign this Thursday, June 27 v Castlerea away at 8pm.

Well done to our county representatives on the Minor team and panel this year who were knocked out after a tight incounter against neighbors Sligo on Friday evening. Well done Cathal and Oisin.

Finally,
Congratulations to the Version One sponsored U12 Division Five team on winning the Spring League following a dramatic victory over St. Barry's in Elphin Sunday.  by all means it was a team performance as the whole team played very well in very tough and wet conditions. It was only 3 points all after normal time with Boyle eventual winners 6-4 after extra time.
Well Done to players and management!
